When you use Trading Journal Pro, we collect the following information:

• Account Information: Email address and password (encrypted) when you register
• Trading Data: Trade records you manually enter (symbols, P&L, dates, notes, emotions)
• Usage Data: Basic app usage patterns to improve the service
• Device Information: Browser type, language preference, and timezone

We do NOT collect: credit card information, government IDs, real-time market data, or brokerage account credentials.

2. 🎯 How We Use Your Information

Your information is used exclusively to provide and improve Trading Journal Pro:

• Providing access to your personal trading journal and analytics
• Syncing your data across devices securely
• Generating AI-powered insights from your trading patterns
• Sending password reset emails when requested
• Improving the application based on aggregate usage analytics

We never use your data for advertising, never sell it to third parties, and never share it with other users.

3. 🔐 Data Storage & Security

All your data is stored securely on Google Firebase (a Google Cloud product), which provides enterprise-grade security:

• Data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3
• Data is encrypted at rest using AES-256
• Authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication
• Each user's data is isolated — other users cannot access your data
• Servers are located in Google Cloud data centers with SOC 2 compliance

While we implement industry-standard security measures, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. We recommend using a strong, unique password.

4. 🤝 Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Trading Journal Pro:

• Google Firebase: Authentication, database storage, and hosting. Firebase Privacy Policy
• Anthropic Claude API: AI analysis feature (only activated when you click "Analyze"). Your trade data is sent to Claude's API for analysis. Anthropic Privacy Policy
• Cloudflare Pages: Website hosting. Cloudflare Privacy Policy
• Google Fonts: Typography. No personal data is shared.

The AI analysis feature only sends data to Anthropic when you explicitly click the "Analyze Now" button. We do not send your data to AI services automatically.

5. ✅ Your Rights

Under GDPR, CCPA, and other applicable privacy laws, you have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of all data we hold about you
• Rectification: Correct inaccurate personal data
• Erasure: Delete your account and all associated data permanently
• Portability: Export your trading data as CSV or JSON
• Objection: Opt out of any non-essential data processing
• Restriction: Limit how we process your data

6. 🍪 Cookies

Trading Journal Pro uses minimal cookies and local storage:

• Authentication token: Keeps you logged in (essential)
• Language preference: Remembers your selected language
• Theme preference: Remembers dark/light mode

We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking cookies, or analytics cookies that share data with advertisers.

7. 👶 Children's Privacy

Trading Journal Pro is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will delete that information.

8. 🔄 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, sending an email notification.

Your continued use of Trading Journal Pro after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
